Manuel "Manny" B. DeBurgo, 50, of Pawtucket, died Dec. 23,
2009 at RI Hospital, Providence. He was born in Brava, Cape
Verde, a son of the late Abilio and Albina (Baptista) DeBurgo. He
came to this country 25 years ago settling in Pawtucket. He was
employed by N.E. Paper Tube Co. of Pawt. as a packer for 20
years and previously worked at Prov. Metallizing Co. and School
House Candy. He was well know by the RI community. He was a
great father, ex-husband, brother, uncle and grandfather to his
family. He was a hard worker and loved to help people. He was
known as handy Manny. He knew how to fix everything, from
watches, cars and houses. He was our super hero and will always
be known to be. He will never be forgotten and we will always
have him in our heart. He is survived by 2 children Manuel
DeBurgo Jr. and Sandy DeBurgo. 7 siblings Carlota DaLomba,
Julio & Lucas Burgo, Domingas Semido, Maria Goncalves, Daniel &
Joao DeBurgo. 3 grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 9
am from the Merrick R. Williams Funeral Home 530 Smithfield
Ave. Pawtucket with a service at 10 am in Mount Hope
Community Baptist Church 734 Hope St. Providence. Calling
Hours Sunday 5-9 pm. Burial will be in North Burial Ground
Providence.
