Joseph E. Hodson, 86, of Roland Baxter Rd. died Friday at RI
Hospital. He was the husband of the late Claire B. (Carpenter
Hodson. Mr. Hodson was born is Pawtucket a son of late Edmond
& Ellen (Ball) Hodson. He had lived most of his life in North
Attleboro. Mr Hodson was a member of First Baptist Church in
North Attleboro, church deacon and on the standing committee.
50 yr. Member of E.L. Freeman Lodge in Pawtucket. U.S. Army
Veteran of WWII and a survivor of the sinking of the Coolidge.
Scouts Commissioner for anawan council. Cub scout master for
Pack 9 and scoutmaster for Troop 12. He is survived by two
sisters, Ruth Kingston of Attleboro and Dorothy DeLue of Glen
Mills, Pa., one brother, Robert Hodson of N.Y., and daughter-in-
law, Kathleen Hodson, five grandchildren, Matt, Jeff and Josh
Hudson, Sam & Scott Basile., five great grandchildren. Father of
the late Duane E. Hodson. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from
9-11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Merrick
R. Williams Funeral Home 530 Smithfield Ave., Pawtucket. Burial
with Military Honors will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnson.
