Arnold H. Smith, 87, of Chandler Ave. passed away, Saturday June

 

28, 2008 at Miriam Hospital, Providence.  He was the husband of

 

the late Frances L. (Carpenter) Smith. Born in Pawtucket, a son of

 

the late Frederick and Maude V. (Hobson) Smith.  He was a

 

lifelong resident of Pawtucket. He was employed by New England

 

Printed Tape as a foreman for many years until his retirement in

 

1984.  Mr. Smith was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church,

 

where he was a deacon, greeter and sang in the choir.  He was an

 

Army Veteran of WWII.  He leaves three  daughters, Carolyn

 

Flaxington of Pawtucket, Evelyn F. Berg of Rowley, MA and

 

Merelyn Smith of Beverly, MA; one sister, Eileen Grasso of

 

Mansfield, MA; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. 

 

He was the brother of the late George Smith.  Relatives and

 

friends are invited to attend a funeral service in Woodlawn Baptist

 

Church, 337 Lonsdale Ave. Pawtucket on Thursday July 3, 2008

 

 at 10 am.  Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
